The Phantom Queen who deals in cruel illusions. She is a major antagonist in Episode 1 of the main story, The Heir of the Covenant and the Guilty Gear crossover side story Visitors From Another World, the main antagonist of side stories Nixied's Sanctum, Reingar's Chaotic Full Moon Festival and Winter Wonderland, and the main protagonist of the past visions in The Origin of the Nightmare.
Hero Background[]
An Acolyte who freely deals out all kinds of illusions, Tenebria is known as the Phantom Queen. She bewilders her targets by overwhelming them with terrifying illusions or by taking on the appearance of others. Though she may look playful, she is monstrously cruel.
Role in Story[]
The Origin of the Nightmare[]
Before being reborn as an Acolyte, Tenebria was once the daughter of a Count and Countess. Her ability to charm everyone around her was simultaneously her greatest blessing and curse. She had a knack for playing dangerous pranks since childhood, even once wanting to see her maid writhing in agony out of sheer morbid curiosity, though she was ashamed of such feelings, especially when her own mother the Countess accidentally suffered a burn as a result of one of her magic acts. She gained a mysterious orb from a merchant who told her that it was from another world. She began playing with it and experimenting, realizing that it changed to a new color every time she used it, never using the same color twice. Each time, it would send her into a dream world where she would have visions of herself in the future as a powerful sorceress who corrupts Ravi and teaches her the cruelty of the world, stops Sigret from surpassing life and death and reuniting with her lover, and makes fun of Crozet, who she considers "boring and clueless". She explains that, since she believes they are all part of a dream world, she can do what she wants without consequence as none of it is real and all of it will disappear when she wakes up.
Eventually, a voice exactly like her own speaks to her from within the orb and offers her the chance to obtain these powers in the real world and grant dream worlds to everyone in her village, allowing them to pursue what they want. In return, she must give away her soul until she wakes up from the illusions. She agrees, but unbeknownst to her, the spell she uses causes everyone in her village to enter the basement of her mansion and mercilessly slaughter each other, leaving her the only living soul around. She screams for the first time since her birth when she finds out and pleads desperately with the voice to let her change everything and take away the heart-shattering agony. The voice offers to erase her memories of her past entirely and allow her to be reborn as an Acolyte, Specter Tenebria, as long as she gives up her humanity, taking away all her positive emotions and feelings for others. She agrees in order to stop the pain inside of her.
After becoming an Acolyte, she uses her Specter form until South Wetheric Moor onwards, where she uses her original appearance.
The Heir of the Covenant[]
Tenebria first appears in Reingar after she is summoned by Plum, who wants to use her power to make himself the Student Council President. She puts him under an illusion and turns her attention to the city, seeking to destroy it. She fights Ras in the city and nearly overpowers him; however, Yuna finally accepts her role as an Heir and her guardian Kazan uses his powers over time to turn the tide and reverse her destruction of the city, forcing Tenebria to flee.
Tenebria later appears at South Wetheric Moor, using her illusions to spread chaos amongst the Order of the Shield's ranks, causing many of them to attack and brutalize one another. Knights such as Crozet and Lorina end up being tricked by her illusions, though they are eventually set free. Ras, this time, is able to defeat her and she fades away, smiling at the heroes believing that they could ever truly kill her.
Other Side Stories[]
She makes another appearance in Nixied's Sanctum, along with Challenger Dominiel, in an attempt to defeat Ras and his allies, and presumably to kill Nixied. She once again is defeated and flees.
She returns in Visitors From Another World assisting Zeno and Kayron alongside Nilgal. Zeno plans on wiping out the Sanctuary of Orbis, guarded by Ras, which will destroy the whole plant. Kayron assists him and pulls the strings of the operation so that he may finally rest once Orbis is gone. Tenebria eventually turns on them both due to not wanting Orbis destroyed, although she has some selfish motives in saving the planet, namely that she does not want to die and still has more ideas on how to cause chaos and spread nightmares. She is beaten once again and promises to return with "even cooler nightmares" before fading away.
She is one of the main protagonists and simultaneously the main antagonist of Reingar's Chaotic Full Moon Festival, in which Adlay accidentally summons her. She wants to destroy the city again, but Adlay takes her on a tour of the festival, not knowing her identity due to her appearance being different from her Specter form. She ends up being terrible at an arcade shooting game, and tries to blow it up for fun. Adlay leads her out on top of the tallest tower. Initially, she is bored and wants to push him off for her own amusement, but she stops short in awe when he shows her the fireworks lighting up the night sky. She states that she didn't realize that such events existed in the world of humans, and admits that she loves it. She offers Adlay a happy dream, even though he says that making her happy was all he wanted. She explains that she isn't human, but that she had more in common with them than she had realized. She tells him its best if he doesn't see her again for his sake. Ras and Yuna catch up to her and battle her again, but she states that she's been put in such a good mood that she won't be causing any damage or endangering any lives today. As she leaves, she promises to return. Kazran later says to Adlay that he saved the entire city in more ways than he thinks, but decides not to disclose the identity of the mysterious and attractive girl that Adlay had been with that night.
Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Tier List[]
Tenebria has AoE defense break on S3, which is great in PvP, especially in arena cleave teams. S2 is an AoE attack that reduces Combat Readiness. S1 can Sleep.
Her kit is great and has a lot to offer from both damage and utility. Being a Mage, she can equip Sira-Ren or Tagehel's Ancient Book, which are both great for PvE or PvP content.
Like most Mages, she has low base Health and will need some protection/Health stats or she will die pretty easily.
Recommended Artifacts[]
General[]
Sira-Ren (debuff): Additional debuffs is great since she has 2 AoE attacks.
Tagehel's Ancient Book (PvP): Allows you to use good soul burns on the first turn of PvP.
